The Best 3 Personal Branding Habits
This is a valuable lesson that I recently learned! We tend to underestimate the power of habits. Here are 3 personal branding habits that would drastically transform your ability to achieve!
1️⃣ Embracing Habits > Goals
I’ve always been a goal-setter, but achieving those goals often felt like a distant dream. When it came to fitness, I tried everything. From gym memberships to strict diets, maintaining consistency was my struggle. I’d start strong, but eventually, laziness, boredom, or procrastination would derail my efforts. Sounds familiar?
It wasn’t until I discovered the power of habits that things started to change. I read books like “The Power of Habit,” “Atomic Habits,” and “The Compound Effect“.
They taught me that instead of focusing on goals, I should build systems and routines.
I began with a seemingly insignificant habit. Walking around my house for 20 minutes every day. Over time, this small step grew into a daily routine that I genuinely enjoyed. Eventually, I incorporated listening to podcasts into my morning routine. I even encouraged my wife to walk with me!
This new habit has been a real game-changer for me. I wake up every morning feeling energized and excited about it. It’s something I genuinely look forward to, instead of something I dread and keep avoiding.
This was the start of my journey from setting goals to building sustainable systems. It’s been challenging to break out of my comfort zone and overcome laziness. But the rewards have been worth it.
I discovered the joy of keeping a habit and the satisfaction of continuous improvement.
To build personal branding habits, start small, be consistent, and find accountability. By focusing on the process rather than the outcome, you can overcome obstacles & achieve lasting results.
Instead of having personal branding goals, I encourage you to shift this mindset. Think of building personal branding habits instead!
2️⃣ Learning & Self-Development
This year, I’ve dedicated a specific time each day for self-learning. Whether it’s listening to podcasts, reading books, or attending online courses. I’ve made it a consistent part of my routine.
Let me tell you, this has been incredibly beneficial! Both for my personal and professional growth.
By making learning a habit, I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge on entrepreneurship and business growth. I’ve learned from the experiences of others ahead of me. This helped me start my own online educational platform.
Remember, the key is to find a learning method that suits your preferences and lifestyle. Whether reading, listening, or attending workshops. The important thing is to make it a consistent part of your routine.
For instance, dedicate just 30 minutes a day to reading. This can expose you to new ideas and turn your career dreams into actionable steps!
Invest in your own development! you’re not only improving your skills and knowledge. But also opening up new opportunities for personal and professional growth. So, take the time to learn something new every day, and you’ll be amazed at the positive impact it can have on your life.
Although I previously struggled with finding time for self-development. I’ve learned that this is often a matter of priorities. When something is truly important, you’ll find a way to make time for it. Keep that in mind when thinking about your own personal branding habits.
One of the best personal branding habits is continuous reading! it feeds your mind, which in turn affects how you speak and act and, ultimately, how people view your brand!
3️⃣ The Power of Surroundings
This one might not quickly come to mind when you’re thinking of personal branding habits to build.
If you’re the best person in the room, you might feel there’s no need to strive further in work, business, or life. However, this can lead to a lack of motivation as you stay in your comfort zone.
When we’re surrounded by people who are doing amazing things, it naturally sparks a desire within us to do better as well. We see their successes as a reflection of what’s possible for ourselves.
Being the ‘least’ in a group can actually be a powerful motivator. It encourages you to learn, grow, and strive for excellence.
So, my advice is to be mindful of your surroundings. Seek out opportunities to connect with inspiring individuals. The people we associate with can significantly shape our mindset, our beliefs, and our life direction.
Make a conscious effort to be around those ahead of you regularly in their careers or fields of expertise. This can happen through attending workshops or events with inspiring mentors.
